I agree but Torres looks a far worse deal.

Carroll is still young and will still be young enough to command a huge fee in 3 years time. ( he can play at least 9-12 years at the top level)

Torres being much older is proven now but maybe 3-5 seasons max with little chance of getting any of the money back.

The problem with Carroll is you are buying potential rather than proven........ seems crazy money for potential.........

Liverpool are desperate and scrambling.............
